Delhi based Freddy Birdy has a knack for producing humorous and satiriical images that use motifs from popular culture, the use of which has won him many awards in his field, which is advertising. The paintings at his first solo exhibition reflect influences drawn from contemporary times, SMS language and even McDonald's. He spoke to Janice Pariat about why he thinks advertising produces art.
